香港教師愛樂合唱團簡介

本團前身為教協合唱團，成立於一九七七年一月，為香港教育專業人員協會康樂部屬下之文娛活動組織。曾分別在李德君先生、卓明理先生、丘日謙先生、陳真嫻女士、史君良先生、伍志成先生、呂國璋先生及容可度先生等指揮下，多次於香港大會堂音樂廳、香港大會堂劇院、藝術中心、荃灣大會堂、大專會堂、中文大學邵逸夫堂、上環文娛中心劇院、牛池灣文娛中心及西灣河文娛中心等地演出。
本團於一九九零年至一九九三年期間，因練習場地問題曾停辦三年，俟教協銅鑼灣會所落成啟用， 得以在文娛活動的小禮堂練習，並於一九九三年十月復團。
由於合唱團希望在藝術發展及推廣方面有更大的空間，使不同職業的人士均可參與，所以在一九九九年三月十九日正式註冊為非牟利社團，並訂名為香港教師愛樂合唱團，獲孔仲繩中學借出音樂室作練習場地。
二零零二年三月重租教協銅鑼灣會所小禮堂作練習場地。本團榮獲費明儀女士、江樺女士、楊羅娜女士、潘志清女士、畢永琴女士、陳供生先生及邱少彬先生擔任藝術顧問.
本團宗旨為結合全港對音樂及合唱有興趣之人士，共同推廣音樂活動，以配合教育事業之發展，服務社會；並提供合唱訓練，以豐富教育工作者之課餘生活。
We believe the Teachers' Chorus is unique. The Chorus' repertoire, selected to give pleasure to both discriminating music-lovers and family audiences, includes both Chinese and foreign songs, a fact which reflects the emphasis on language tuition of Hong Kong teaching profession. Our membership includes non-teachers, so that the Chorus fosters communication between the teaching profession and the general public. To encourage the young, we charge half-price membership fees for full-time students.
The mission of the Chorus is to promote musical education, and to hold events that cultivate the enjoyment of pupular songs. Thus, we provide family recreation in a stimulating but stress-free atmosphere as a healthy counterbalance to in Hong Kong busy lifestyle.
